The SILVERTON SKINNY
THIS IS A 2 PERSON TEAM RACE!
(There are no solo divisions/racers allowed due to mountain protocol. Additionally there is ZERO groomed terrain at Silverton Mountain. Thus if you do not have backcountry or off-piste ski experience we cannot reccommend this race. Or please make a trip to Silverton to sample the terrain! Here is the latest trail map.)

This years race will have a Race Division, Recreation Division and a Juniors Division. Please enter your age as this will determine you USA Skimo standings.
- The Race class will have approximately 8000 vertical feet of climbing.
- The Rec class will have approximately 3500-4000 vertical feet of climbing.
- Juniors will follow the Rec course.
Course preview and discounted lift tickets will be available Thursday April 9, Friday April 10th and Sunday April 12th.

“Race Category” Specific Rules and Gear Requirements:
Racers are required to carry standard snow safety equipment: avalanche probe, avalanche shovel and 457 kHz avalanche beacon. A pack that can carry skis, hydration source (bottle or bladder) goggles, helmet shield or sunglasses. Windproof upper body layer must be worn or carried in pack. Skis must be alpine style skis with metal edges (NO split boards), randonee or 75mm or NTN telemark bindings are acceptable.
“Rec Category” Gear Requirements:
Racers are required to carry a hydration source (bottle or bladder) Goggles, helmet shield or sunglasses Windproof upper body layer must be worn or carried in pack Rec participants must also be on alpine style skis or split boards with metal edges. Randonee, tech, telemark or split board bindings are all acceptable in this category. All participants are required to use climbing skins.
